Okay, hold on. I used to be a blogging newbie as well. I had the same problem. I started my blog (BloggingBasics101.com) back in 2006, and I didn't know anything about blogging. In fact, it was only a week before I found out what a blog was.
Now I know a ton about them, and my blog work is great - I get over 300,000 unique visitors every month, asking me to consider myself what you can hear and learn When it comes to building your own blog. I am not a guru of any kind, but I definitely know the basics.
I promise it will be simple, relatively easy and certainly easy to understand (no stupid jargon). sound good?

So, I am going to start what you need to do to set up your personal blog. Before we dive into this though, I really want to talk about why you should create a blog.

Blogging has quickly become one of the most popular ways of disseminating and spreading information and news. There are actually millions of blogs online (don't you worry, you can make your stand and take notice!).
It is a great way to express yourself and a great way to share information with others.

Step 1 - Choose your favorite blogging platform
Choosing where you want to create a blog is the very first thing you have to do. I am going to take a leap and assume that you have heard of WordPress, and this is the platform I advocate. It is widespread.
It is one of the largest blogging platforms in the world, with countless plugins and add-ons and endless ways to design and layout your blog in almost every way.
Basically WordPress = a lot more than 82 million active users.
However, there are other options, and they are listed below:
Blogger - Definitely the next best thing to WordPress.
Tumblr - half social network, half blog. Interesting, and very simple to use.
Even though WordPress is bigger (and probably better) than both of these, here are my reasons why you should still go with WordPress:
Super easy set-up and free to use
Free themes and layouts (not kidding, there are ghazals).
If you get stuck (you're supposed to, it's a great support forum, but it's good to be there if you need it).
Your blog will be very fast and it is functional and complete as well!
People can talk to you easily. Your content can be shared, commented on, and so on.

Step 2 - Self-Hosting or a Free Option?
Wow, slow down there! This is the biggest decision before we move forward. You need to decide whether to pay for your blog or grab it for free.
WordPress, Tumblr and Blogger all offer free blogs for anyone. Very good, right? Considered perfect for those who were considered super serious about blogging. But there is a downfall:
1) You are able to get your own domain name
On a free blog, your blog's web address (your URL) will be butt-ugly. Like, really ugly. In short, create a free blog with any of the above free blog services and it looks like this:
yourblog.wordpress.com
yourblog.blogspot.com
yourblog.tumblr.com
I know, ugly right?
2) Limitations and More Limits
There are some limitations to freeing a blog. You completely monetized it, and you took the possibility of uploading all the videos and images you want to show to everyone - it's all limited. Worse, you hope that you also have access to the free themes offered by WordPress.
3) You did not create your blog
It may sound silly at first, but you really own your blog. Hosted on someone else's web property and they can remove it if they wish. They have done this in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. Which means that all your hard work on your blog, all those countless hours of writing blog posts have vanished within seconds. sad…
On the other hand, with a self-hosted blog on your own domain name - you are the actual owner of your blog. You are supposed to name your blog whatever you want, for example, "YourName.com" or "YourAwesomeBlog.com. You can call it .com, .co.uk, .net, .org, or virtually any other Can end up with web suffixes. Add to that unlimited bandwidth for videos, pictures, and content. Free themes and you have a winning combo.
So how much is hosting and a domain name? Fortunately, no thinking like thinking. This typically works out to about $ 5 to $ 10 per month, depending on your hosting provider, which is less than a few coffees.

Remember, the design of your blog should reflect both you and your personality, but also what the blog is about. If your blog is about tennis, then there is no point in having a football-oriented theme?
On top of that, it should be easy to navigate if you want people to be around. If it is difficult and moving around it, people are staying. Ultimately design is a subjective art; Meaning everyone likes different things.
But no one likes ugly websites, and they especially hate websites that require a university degree to navigate. Make it easy for them.
